Cerrillos to Canyon Road
Architecture and art, pi
ñon smoke and the quiet air, these are some of the things that make Santa Fe so special.  Things I love about this town: the way adobe absorbs the sunlight; the patio and coffee at Garcia Street Books; not a single straight road or wall anywhere; art galleries all over the place; mountains always around; coyote fences; farolitos; history; that it's too cute but it captures my imagination; pedestrian- and dog-friendly; the farmer's market; the plaza; the fiestas; the spiritual seekers; the Spanish; the sculpture garden off Canyon Road; the maze of alleys and patios and low crumbling buildings; the statue of a Mohawk woman dressed in southwest turquoise who has been sainted by the Catholic church*; when water is flowing in the Santa Fe river; the street names; the pine trees; that I still know my way around; meeting friends for lunch at Tune-Up.
